The Prudential Regulatory Authority (PRA) was created in 2013 as one of the successor organizations of the FSA.


The Prudential Regulatory Authority was created when the Financial Services Act of 2012 replaced the FSA with two new organizations, the other being the FCA. The PRA is a part of the Bank of England.


The PRA objectives are:

  • Promote safety and soundness of individual firms
  • Protect insurance policy holders
